Toronto Ukrainian Festival - August 2007

launch the archived UkrainianFestival site, using the Shuttle Framework

  • Extensive site, with both full Flash and cross-linked HTML versions, mainly produced in less than a week, a feat only possible as an IntelliFolios site. It would normally take an exponentially higher budget, and much longer to produce and test it, using traditional means.
  •

  • Alternative use of QuickLinks to create an always-open, additional main navigation.
  •

  • Great use of SideBar Extension for hot-linked, trackable logos and announcements, as well as animated rotating logos, each hotlinked, to accommodate dozens of sponsors.
  •

  • All sponsor logos and links have a custom tracking link, so individual statistics show up for each one, giving accurate feedback to the organization and sponsors of how many click their logos had.
  •

  • Excellent use of Multi-item Expand Pages for easy navigation through various length individual exhibitors, performers, and presenters. Many have mini slideshows.
  •

  • Client wanted more photos incorporated into header graphic, but the title needed to be bold at the same time. We integrated the images as a Flash animation within the type of the logo, choosing tonality that matches the logo. This solves issues with site real estate, and wanting to present a large title, while having room for imagery in branding area.
  •

  • Integration of fast-loading, no plug-in required .FLV video, right within the site.
  •

  • Custom send message from headers for each key contact has email written out as a graphic, preventing spam.
  •

  • This year, the launch page features some Ukrainian (Cyrillic) text, but next year, we hope to make an entire HTML site version in Ukrainian, or at least some key listings.
  •

Ongoing case study about the Festival's site.
