The HTML Launch Page, otherwise known as the Intro Page, has many easily-implented free options to choose from, ensuring the ability to have highly personalized, unique Launch Pages that still retain all the auto-sensing and statistical feedback that is unique with IntelliFolios sites. Keep in mind that If the desired design cannot be accomplished via this method, we, or your designer or another developer, can always create a typical, "old-fashioned" launch page from scratch. Please also see "What is a Launch Page?" for more info:
Launch Page Window Title: what is seen in the larger, top line of search engine results, and is what your site will be bookmarked as.
Flash Website Window Title: what is shown under the "windows" menu item in a browser, and ideally, should start out differently from the Launch Page title. This is only used if the site is set to pop-up.
Tech Difficulty Form: This was developed for clients who have many visitors who are not too computer-savvy, or if the client just wants to have that extra bit of vistor (customer) service. It gathers all of the info that the Launch Page senses, and allows the visitor to type in what the problem was, and then sends it to the site owner. If the owner then feels that there is some real technical issue with the site, beyond content or user error, then they can send it to us, and if it really is a problem on our end, we fix it at no charge. It also gives the site owner the opportunity to make personal contact with the visitor after the issue is resolved, which is great PR. Most clients do not choose this, but it is there for a few that want it.
Link to HTML Version: Normally, we just have it auto-link to the HTML version, but there are instances where a client may have both a fully-designed HTML version linked from the Launch Page for search engines and visitors with special needs, such as web readers for the vision-impaired, and a printer-optimized Print Version linked from the site's Print Button. It can also be used to link to any other site, such as some online utility site, or their old site during transition to a new site.
Header Text to Display at Top: This is the HTML text title, which automatically is shown larger in a separate top area, and allows for just an image to be underneath, which wouldn't be possible with using an Article Page as the content. You can also choose to have a graphic in this top-most area, as a header.
Image File to Display on Left: This creates a full-height area on the left side, which is great as a side banner graphic, image, etc, while allowing fast, free built-in options to be used for creating the rest of the Launch Page.
Keywords: A few, strong invisible words and phrases used in search engine positioning
Meta Description: Used in search engine positioning and visible display of your search results.
Copyright / Publisher / Author: These are standard metatagging fields that are optional, but recommended to use.
Body Text: Uses an Article Page as the source info, and can have a single image, or a short vertical stack of small images. Allows full assisted devices and search engine compatibility, versus using a page as a graphic.
Exit Page (free to activate, but incurs cost of new Article Page, and possibly extra Media Objects as graphics): After a short interval of time, the Launch Page, which is just sitting there behind the site, can switch into another page, normally used as a thank you, a special offer, a call to action, to introduce another site to visit, or just a memorable image or logo. This page gives the option to relaunch the site again.
Hidden Body Copy: This is a completely legitimate way of having the search engine pickup any text that is contained within a graphically-created Launch Page. It can also serve as a summary of what is contained within your site, and can list items that people would typically be searching for, such as descriptions of your work, regions you work in, techniques you use, awards you have won, and key, high profile projects.
There is really no limit to this page, but about 500 words is optimal. It should not be used to list anything that would not be listed in the site normally (spamming). Using hidden text is especially useful for clients who wish to not have an HTML version, but yet want some minimal visibility on search engines.
TIP: One cool way of customizing a simple page is by just creating custom icons, and use the main area with just built-in options. Another option is to create custom icons and custom main area graphics, and retain HTML body text and easy editability of the main text, as was done in the launch page to this site.

Although IntelliFolios has over 60 pre-tested designer colour sets, you are welcome to have a custom one done for you. It can be based on your branding, colors from a JPEG image you provide (or maybe from one used as a site header or Launch Page graphic), or you can just numerically spec the color palette.
In creating a color set, there are 7 potential color "channels" that can be used, and up to 50 individual assignments for each Framework. That means up to 350 decisions need to be made, which takes a bit of time. With creating a custom color set, we give you 2 approval stages before generating the final, so in all, 3 versions.
The cost of creating one from scratch, or substantially modifying an existing one is $400. If you just need to tweak one or two colors in an existing set, or change a handful of assignments to another color, it is $200. Modified color sets will usually work fairly well with any other Framework you choose in the future, but there will likely need to be several tweaks, resulting in another $200 charge, if switching Frameworks.
We have tested many of the color sets, in many of the Frameworks, but doing all is a staggering number of tests, so if you find that any color set is unusable or unreadable without any custom backgrounds, for the Framework you choose, we will modify it free of charge to look good.

IntelliFolios has over 90 professional fonts available from you to choose from, free of charge. Clients can choose one or two fonts to be assigned as a navigation font and a content font. Furthermore, these two fonts can be mapped to a number of areas, resulting in great creative control, without sacrificing the speed and value of dynamically-assigned fonts.
In those rare situations that you require different fonts to be used, that can usually be accommodated. If a different font needs to be used for page content, headers, buttons, etc, that can usually be also accommodated by creating design graphics with that font, and not using dynamically-generated text in that area. This also gives more creative control in terms of spacing, alignment, sizing, etc.
If an alternate font needs to be used extensively in areas that should be dynamic, such as navigation or pages that change often, such as Gallery Pages, than a client-provided font (or one that we source for a client as an extra service), can be integrated into the Framework, or the system.
The price for this starts at $250, for a font that has proper character sets, and has relatively standard sizing and alignment. If font engineering needs to be utilized to fix certain issues that some fonts may have, this price may be substantially higher.
Please note that some fonts have substantially different sizing and alignment, and may not work well with certain frameworks. We have created several Frameworks that are very forgiving in terms of font size and alignment, or have overly large or small default text sizes, specifically for this purpose, namely MiniType for small fonts, and MegaType for large fonts. These Frameworks tend to have the default sizes much larger or smaller, an have a huge amount of breathing room around type areas, to accommodate strange sizing and baseline, ascender, and descender positions.

The following is a list of general free options included in most, if not all Framework designs. Many of these options can be turned on and off in your specific site, according to your wishes. There are often dozens more options that are specific to each Framework, and these can be discussed in your Framework design consult.
media options:
A free "cropped" thumbnail can be done of each image (by request), by a trained designer, who will extract the most unique, interesting element of each image, so even though the thumbnail may be small, the image can easily be identified. It also has the benefit of creating a more abstract collection of thumbnails, especially important when the thumbnails are always visible, as they are in many of our Frameworks. You are welcome to submit a collection of your own cropped thumbnails, 72px by 72px, as long as they have exactly the same name as the full-crop image, and we'll take care of making it work.
Each still Media Object can be clicked on to pop it up full screen, with a "screen" version of that media, which is 1024px wide by 768px high.
Profile options:
folder name of HTML site: define keywords (99 characters max) for your main HTML site directory path for potentially better search engine results.
create quick ID for the profile, so it can be accessed directly by your visitor typing in a simple URL, like www.yourdomain.com/profilename
launch settings: (coming soon)
custom pre-loader: (coming soon)
Framework Options:(coming soon)
general options:
choice and mapping of fonts: Choose two from nearly 100 professional-grade fonts, and specify which of the two are used for which areas.
keyline around Flash site
display "scroll for more" when scrollbars are required
display keyline around media in HTML popups
display keylines around Media Objects in Info Pages
disable keyline around Gallery Media
alternate color scheme for HTML popups
override surrounding background on Intro Page
disable controls:
disable internal multi-step (breadcrumb) "back" button
disable thumbnails
disable scrollbars
disable "loading" indicator
disable popup "navigation tips"
gallery:
master gallery size control (percentage), which shrinks all gallery media uniformly, creating more breathing room between the media and the rest of the page.
gallery block color, which inserts one of your seven colors behind all the gallery media
enable keylines around gallery thumbnails
enable thumbnail tinting, which mixes one of your seven colors with the thumbnail, creating a more uniform design
display gallery media titles as numbers only
auto-advance delay (in seconds)
design:
display main and / or secondary navigation as all upper case or all lower case
font mapping, which allows us to override the defaults and specify which of the two fonts are used for main navigation, secondary navigation, QuickLinks, Site Titles, Expand Page headers, gallery media title, and gallery related media.
override default Info Page media borders with a choice of the following: (warning - some borders may not look good with certain Framework designs) none, hard shadow, soft shadow, larger soft shadow, small rounded corner, large rounded corner, circle, sliced corners, photo tabs, photo corners, keyline only, hexagon. Each of these has the option of no keyline, thin keyline, and thick keyline.
Extra padding around Info Pages, which is very useful if you have a busy background, or want a more minimalist look with your sparse information and media.
Individual controls for each Media Object
"Disable keyline only for this Media Object", useful if you have .swf files that have clear backgrounds, or your image has a pure white or black background, and your page is pure white or black, and your subject matter doesn't touch the borders of the image (like product shots, for example).
"Do not watermark this Media Object" allows the site to have copy-protection or identification features in popups through watermarking (extra option), while not having the watermark appear in popups that it may interfere with, such as charts, maps, or scans of articles.
